Loser Ad of The Day

http://raleigh.craigslist.org/wri/1165705524.html

SEO Writer, you must be able to write a ton and for the amazing rate of $2 per 200-500 words!

People, just pass this one, don't lower yourselves. If you're going to write SEO at this rate, you might as well open your own blog and write these types of articles for yourself. You'll make passive income eventually, maybe even by next month.

Bottom feeders hire writers at this rate. I'm not against low pay or the people who take it, but this isn't even low pay. This type of rate is an insult.

No Afternoon or Late Edition Yesterday. The router is having issues lately. After an hour or so of starting, then restarting, I slapped the thing and turned off the power strip.

Blog Advertising-Affiliate Program

Most bloggers have Adsense on their blogs. Adsense is well known and for good reason.

But have you heard of Adgitize?

Adgitize is a network of companies and bloggers that advertize through small block ads. Most are in the typical 125x125 banner, but can be customized. I have two and they do not intrude on my layout, I feel.

You can earn with this program several ways. You get points for posting ANY post, clicking through to other blogs, and affiliation. Points are broken down into cash through their system.

So far I've made .06, not a heck of a lot, but it is more than certain other ad programs on any given day. You can cash out with PayPal or use your earnings to advertize on their network.

If you'd like to get started, visit the site through the link above the advertising images in the sidebar, top right and check out their FAQ. Yes, this is my affiliate link. I wouldn't normally use that, but I am a big fan of Adgitize and I feel it is very beneficial.

Another How-To Publisher

FireHow looks to be just like eHow. The user interface is different, but the compensation program is close to eHows'.

Will be checking it out more. If you would like to visit the site or join, just click on the logo . I am NOT affiliated with FireHow nor am I compensated for any sign ups.

WWJD?

Because, you know, God wants you to be poor.

To my friends who are Christian, this isn't a smack to you, but to those who use religion as a way to scam others of their faith. You can bet they're going to make money.

Screenwriter Scam Alert!

The following is an actual email I have received TWICE from two differently titled ads in two different cities via CraigsList. Just send this one to your Spam folder.
The text in red is my comments.

***
This is the last last call as we still need a creative writer to write a
screenplay (90 - 110 pages) for Part 3 of our independent movie. Pay is
$7500.00 (may be negotiable up to 10,000 if you are a proven accomplished
screenwriter). You should be able to complete the screenplay within the
next 60 days. You will be paid 1/3 now, 1/3 in 30 days and 1/3 when you
finish. This is an independent (NON-SAG) production. No royalties and no
other monies will be paid to you unless a Major Distributor picks up the
movie then you will be paid additional compensation based on industry
standard guidelines. This is considered a work-for-hire. If you are
interested you need to follow the below steps ASAP and contact us to get
started. [Ok, seems fine so far]

1. View Part 2 Free at http://www.sspart2.com (this is necessary in order
to write Part 3 and it helps us offer independent work). You do not have
to pay as you can use a trial offer instead of a buy offer from trial pay
and the movie link will be sent to you. [Viewing is ok, waaait a sec, they want me to use TrialPay?]

2. Evaluate if you can write Part 3 based on the below synopsis:
Synopsis: Shannon Johnson is a third generation AAK. When she transfers to
a new school and learns about the horrific events that lead to the
lifetime banishment of her sorority, she is determined to restore the good
name and legacy of the organization but not without opposition of course.

Note: You will only have this summary and what you saw while watching Part
2 to write a complete 90-110 page screenplay. Part 2 has enough of Part 1
so you don't need to watch Part 1. [I can do this, but...TrialPay?]

3. Contact me at part3writer@secretsisterhoodmovie3.com with your phone #
and the transaction ID received from TrialPay (this verifies that you
actually watched the movie and that you are interested in getting this job
done as we pay 1/3 up front and as a small production company we
absolutely must know you are a legitimate real person wanting to COMPLETE
this writing task as we have other balls already rolling on this...
{No, what you mean is I need to have given my cc number to some other companies that you're affiliated with so you can make money off a film you can't sell.]

4. I will contact you within 24 hours so we can proceed.[With the deed to my beach house in AZ,too?]

I'm excited and I hope you are the one that can make this happen for us. I
believe this should assist your creative career as well. [Translation: Thanks for the affiliate pay, loser]

V. W.
P>S. Please do not respond to this email as I many not be able to respond
to every email in a timely fashion. [Translation: Too busy cleaning out my Paypal, shopping, and laughing at whoever falls for this.]

Do not fall for ANYTHING that involves a payment of any kind for a job!

Scam Posts-Most Common

The following image is a cropped screen shot from today's posting in New Mexico. Be advised that this particular posting appears all over the world. It is not a job, but a link to a pay site.

Unless a link is to a site that is valid, do not follow links posted on Craigslist!! Linked sites often are spam email collectors or even host malware/viruses.

Also watch for auto-responders. Chances are, if an email comes in as soon as you send an application or cover letter-it's an auto responder. These are notorious spammers.
